There will be a parent information session in school on Wednesday 23rd May 2018 so we can share information, strategies and approaches that we use in school. Parents and carers are invited to attend and will be signposted to various sources of information to support the family. This will also be a fantastic opportunities for parents and carers to become aware of the many programmes we use in school to support our pupils with social learning challenges.

Please see the attached list of free advisory sessions that are running across the city in the spring term 2018. These sessions provide support and advice for parents and carers of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. No need to book, just turn up at the time and on the date stated.
Our staff have all received training in the Social Thinking approaches. We believe that Social Thinking helps our pupils to increase their social awareness and to manage their emotions. All classes are learning about feelings and how they can change their feelings so they are in the best frame of mind to learn and interact successfully with others.

Miss Carroll, Mrs Menagh and Mrs Cushing were delighted to attend the EMTAS awards in September 2017. We were the first primary school to be awarded the SIL John Cole Award for Inclusive Practice. The award ceremony took place at the Town Hall.
The Isabella Trust is offering a number of free training sessions for parents that take place during the school day. The training involves learning about Autism, Sensory Processing Difficulties and other Special Educational Needs. Please see their website for details.
